Our final group shot once we’d got to the end and were still standing!! What a great trail, and what a great bunch of people. There’s always the danger when you sign up for these group things (didn’t have a choice here as you can’t walk these trails alone) about who you might end up spending days with in close proximity. But I guess the thing is that everyone has at least one thing in common, and is likely to be of a similar mindset to sign up in the first place.
This bunch didn’t disappoint. It was a mixed bunch of all ages and backgrounds, but we had a ball. So many laughs, so many stories (including naked swimming and rabid flying Alsations) I had a brilliant time.
I love meeting new people, and you always learn new things. I was humbled and educated by this bunch, and again reminded that life can be so short. Another reminder to grab life by the balls and max the shit out of it as you just don’t know what’s round the corner.
Don’t wait to do something, if you want to do it. There might never be all the time in the world.
And if you want to do it, you bloody can. We are capable of so much more than we think. The oldest chap in our group was Norman from the USA. He’s 77. 77! 77 and still hiking. And running! I hope I’m that fit and mobile when I get to that age. What an inspiration.
